Refurbishing family pictures

Susan

I get calls all the time, asking if I refurbish or repair old torn, faded, or discolored pictures?  I LOVE to do this refurbishing when I have the time. What a treat to be able to bring the specific time and person back to memory…as sense of life.  One of the reasons I was drawn to photography, was when I was a little girl I used to dig in an old ammunition box, where my mother stored our hodgepodge of family photographs.  I just recently went through that old ammunition box when I returned home last month.  My mother passed away in September and It has been a sad and devastating time for all of us.  I found so many pictures in that old ammunition box, that I have no idea who the person is or may be?  It’s sad and I wish she and I would have had one more day to go through that ammunition box and reminisce and learn.

So, when Cadee Ann called me to rework an image of her father, Mike Duncan a farmer in Colfax, Louisiana, where he was on a tractor plowing the land that he had sold, but he was proud of it as a young man…I couldn’t resist.  Mike Duncan was a farmer for over 40 years!  I love the portrait and know how important it was not only to her, but to him.  I rebuilt the tractor tires, the plow, trailer, sky and ground.  It was a fun project.

Thanks Cadee Ann for allowing me to do this!
